LESLEY HAMPTON Bio
Founded on the principles of inclusivity, identity, awareness, and heritage, LESLEY HAMPTON is an indigenous-owned brand focused on mental health awareness, body positivity, and authentic representation through the lens of womenswear and gender neutral items. The brand was founded by Anishinaabe Mohawk multi-diciplinary artist, designer, and creative director Lesley Hampton, who uses the teachings and characteristics developed from being a Third Culture Kid and Indigenous woman to critique present day society, fashion, media, and pop culture.
Founded in 2016, Lesley’s inaugural collection created during her first semester of fashion school at George Brown College was featured in Vogue UK, Glamour UK, and CHLOE Magazine. The brand continued flourishing success prior to Lesley’s graduation, with viral features in Marie Claire, ELLE UK, COSMO UK, Daily Mail UK, Allure, and Yahoo Style; and worn on the red carpet by Penny Oleksiak, Cheryl Hickey, Dragonette, Sarah Fisher, Joan Kelley Walker (RHOT), and Millie Davis. After graduation, she established her headquarters and launched her atelier at the Toronto Fashion Incubator.
